From Bay of Fundy Inshore Fishermen's Association: "Our President met today with the Deputy Minister of Fisheries and the Regional Director General of DFO to discuss this issue, among others.

It was made clear to all present that the Bay of Fundy Inshore Fishermen’s Association is fundamentally opposed to this proposed assault on our member’s way of life. It was also made clear that we expect the Department to carry out its duty to protect Canada’s seas as required by law and not to defer something so critical to Provincial regulators alone.

The BFIFA will oppose Cermaq’s plans at all levels. We have truly sustainable communities, entirely predicated on healthy fisheries and we WILL fight to protect them."
