Protecting our Coastal Waters: Is Anybody Listening? A press conference presented by the Healthy Bays Network.
The potential restocking of open net pens in Bayswater, N.S. by Cooke Aquaculture, without the official approval of their license renewal, highlights the persistent disregard for our coastal communities. It's time for the government to listen and act against these unethical practices threatening our waters and our livelihoods. It’s been 12 years since the last big press conference on this issue, and not much has changed.
We will present before the media and concerned citizens the critical issues related to open net pen aquaculture in Nova Scotia. We need government regulators to understand that feedlot finfish aquaculture is neither acceptable nor sustainable in our province. Please join us for this important event.
