The NS Aquaculture Review Board is about to make its first ever fish farm expansion ruling. On Monday, January 24th, it is expected the ARB will release its decision on the expansion of the Rattling Beach salmon farm in the Annapolis Basin, setting the precedent for all future Board hearings of this kind.
On Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. AST, Ecology Action Centre (EAC) will be hosting an online media briefing featuring coastal community residents with the Healthy Bays Network (HBN) and legal experts with Ecojustice to break down what the ARB’s decision will mean for the future of aquaculture in NS. This briefing will be open to media and the public.
During the panel discussion they'll break down salmon farming industry expansion plans, discuss what we know about the ability of coastal communities to participate in development decisions, and respond to questions.
