ARB Hearing November 15th: re Rattling Beach, Digby #AQ1039. Register now to attend virtually.

Aquaculture Review Board Public Hearing Notice for Rattling Beach, Digby, N.S. Application by Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd. for a boundary amendment to marine finfish licence and lease AQ#1039 in Annapolis Basin, Digby County.

Hearing Dates: November 15, 2021 to November 18, 2021 Session Time: 9:00 AM Location: Rodd Grand Yarmouth Convention Centre, 417 Main Street, Yarmouth, NS


This application seeks to expand the current Cooke aquaculture site from 8.75 hectares to just over 29 hectares. Important to note also is that this is one of the five Cooke open-net pen salmon farm sites which has been operating outside of its leased boundaries.


Ecology Action Center (EAC), Ecojustice lawyer on behalf of St. Mary's Bay Protectors and Healthy Bays Network (HBN) all applied for intervenor status in this hearing and were denied. One property owner, Gregory Heming, has been granted intervenor status.
