Who We Are

The Protect Liverpool Bay Association (PLB) is a group of citizens advocating to protect our bay from the destructive impacts of open net-pen fin-fish farms. We know fin-fish farms cannot be safely operated in a marine environment. We are calling on the Nova Scotia government to withdraw the current Application for Expansion by Cooke Aquaculture for salmon farms in Liverpool Bay.

Protect Liverpool Bay (PLB) have teamed up with Ecojustice, Canada’s largest environmental law charity, to oppose Cooke Aquaculture's proposed salmon farm expansion in Liverpool Bay. We will be responsible for legal expenses and other costs associated with preparing for the adjudicative hearing in front of the provincial Aquaculture Review Board.
